Dr Renier van Aardt MD(MB,ChB)CCFP received his degrees in Medicine and Surgery and is also board certified in Family Medicine. He  devotes most of his time to the practice of cosmetic medicine. He graduated in 1991 from the University of Stellenbosch in Cape Town, South Africa and trained and worked in many areas of medicine and surgery, obtaining proficiency in a variety of surgical procedures, including caesarian sections, minor general surgery and anesthesiology.

Dr. Van Aardt has been practicing in the field of family medicine in Canada since 1993 and is Canadian Board Certified in Family Medicine. He is a fellow of the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery and a board member of the Canadian Association of Aesthetic Medicine. He has been granted full licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia and has held privileges at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. He held the position of Chief of Staff at Twillingate Hospital in Newfoundland and he has 10 years of emergency room experience.

Having been intrigued by lasers since youth and with an aptitude for the visual arts, intergrating cosmetic medicine into this practice was a smooth evolutionary process for Dr. van Aardt. He started laser dermatological treatments at the Tusket Medical and Health Centre in 2000.

He has attended laser treatment and cosmetic medical conferences, workshops and training sessions in many major centres across North America, learning from the top specialists in the field. Dr. Van Aardt enjoys this field of practice thoroughly, able to fully express his professional passion, a fact his patients clearly appreciate. He most well known for his skills as a Botox and Dermal filler injector, however he enjoys combining different treatments for patients to achieve the best overall results.

Dr. Van Aardt has a broad base of clinical experience and expertise to draw on. He approaches his patients with a thorough understanding of the person as a whole, able to appreciate the medical, psychological as well as aesthetic considerations in this field of practice. He is committed to lifelong learning and refining his skills and attends a number of conferences and educational workshops every year. Dr. Van Aardt is a sought after public speaker on topics in Aestheic Medicine and has also agreed to author two chapters in a popular medical text.

Dr. Van Aardt accredits much of his vision to learning from peer mentors such as Dr. Martin Braun, who was the first physician to offer Laser hair Removal in Canada.
